SMS terms
These are the terms for the text messages tutor.fish sends about a booking. Short version: you asked for them, they are only about your booking, and STOP ends them for good.
Who is texting you
tutor.fish is operated by Cloud WiFi Limited (13521157), 19 Shanklin Road, London, N8 8TJ. Messages are sent through WACloud, our own messaging platform.
Every message says tutor.fish in it, because we are the sender. The venue or business your booking is with is named inside the message, because that is what the booking is about — but they are not the sender, they do not text you through this programme, and they do not get your number or your consent from us for their own use.
What we send
Only messages about the booking you made: a confirmation when it is made, a reminder shortly before it, and a note if it is changed or cancelled.
That is the whole list. We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and the businesses using tutor.fish cannot send them through us either.
How you opted in
You do not need an account with us. A venue shares a link — a URL or a QR code — to its booking page on tutor.fish. On that form you entered your booking details and your mobile number, and ticked a box that was unticked by default: “Yes, send me text (SMS) and WhatsApp messages about this booking from tutor.fish”, with “Booking confirmations, reminders and changes only — up to about 3 messages per booking. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Optional: you can complete your booking without this.” beneath it.
You had to tick it yourself, and the booking would have gone through without it. Consent is given per booking, and we never take numbers from purchased lists or from the venue.
How often, and what it costs
Frequency depends on the bookings you make. A single booking usually means up to three messages: the confirmation, the reminder, and a change or cancellation notice if one happens.
Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier’s normal rates apply to messages you send and receive. We do not charge you for them.
Stopping them
Reply STOP and you are unsubscribed: one confirmation message, then nothing further to that number. Reply START to resubscribe. Reply HELP for our contact details and a reminder of how to opt out.
You can also email [email protected] and we will do it for you. Opting out does not cancel your booking, and does not affect an email confirmation if you chose one.
Delivery
Text delivery depends on your mobile carrier and the network, and cannot be guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. If a text does not arrive, your booking still stands and the confirmation shown on screen when you booked is the record.
Your number
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Your number goes to Twilio to deliver the message, and nowhere else. The rest is in our privacy policy, and every service we rely on is listed on our sub-processors page.
Changes
We may update these terms when our practices change, or when legal and carrier requirements do. The date at the top changes when we do. Carrying on with the programme after that means you accept the update.
